Testimonials from Parents,
Volunteers and Students
I am a senior student at Parish Episcopal School. I am also the product of the St. Simon's After-School Program. My entire elementary school career I was involved with this after school care group, and it is immeasurable how much the dedication and genuine care of everyone from the donors, to the teacher, to the volunteers, has impacted my life. For myself, the St. Simon's program means the paving of so many opportunities for students in low-income areas, and guidance away from unsafe situations. This nurturing environment that St. Simon's after-school care provides is in such need at schools all across Dallas. Now as a member of the St. Simon's After-School Program Board, it is a goal of mine to give back as much as possible to an organization that works so hard to continue giving these chances.
Three students from the St. Simon's program have
been offered scholarships at Episopal School of Dallas. The following
are testimonials from the teachers on how these students are doing
Lizbeth from Charles Rice Learning Center, 5th
Grade
Lizbeth’s reading teacher said, “Lizbeth is
an excellent student who is always willing to put the time in to do
her best.”
Lizbeth’s French teacher commented, “She is always respectful and
ready to participate in class, she is a joy to teach!”
Another teacher noted that “Lizbeth is a delightful young lady
who is always polite and a good friend to all of her classmates.”
Jiaying from Maple Lawn Elementary, 1st Grade
Jiaying’s teacher has these wonderful things
to say about her…”Jiaying loves to learn! I am very proud of her
diligent effort and enthusiasm in all subject areas. Her math
concepts are strong across the board and her fluency and expression
in reading is outstanding. Most of all, her gentle spirit,
delightful sense of humor and detailed illustrations inspire her
classmates.”
ESD is thrilled to offer a space in their fifth
grade next year to Leta. Leta is a top student from Cezar Chavez
Elementary. She is involved in Destination Imagination, Art Club, Math
Olympiad and is currently the President of the Student Council at Cezar
Chavez. Leta’s teachers commented that she is respected by her peers and
teachers, and is a gifted student.
